Peace Action Annual Meeting 2010: Our Work Continues

Raed Jarrar

Raed Jarrar, Iraqi-born architect, blogger and political analyst, will speak on the upcoming elections and ongoing refugee crisis in Iraq. Jarrar worked on humanitarian and reconstruction projects before leaving Iraq and immigrating to the US in 2005. During his time in the US, he has facilitated dialogue between US and Iraqi decision makers to ensure a fast a complete US withdrawal from Iraq. An outspoken advocate for ending the US occupation, Raed leaked and translated the infamous new Iraqi hydrocarbon law, and the US-Iraqi security agreement - SOFA.  He is currently a Senior Fellow with Peace Action.

Paul Kawika Martin, Political Director of national Peace Action, will discuss how we can build momentum ahead of the UN Nonproliferation Treaty Review Conference.   He will also share ways to work for nonmilitary solutions in Afghanistan, informed by his recent visit.
