Dorchester People for PeaceParade GuyDorchester People for Peace will march with allies and supporters, bringing a Peace message to thousands of parade watchers. Our theme this year will be to End the Wars, and promote the campaign to Fund Our Neighborhoods/ Reduce Military Spending.

We always get a friendly and enthusiastic welcome from the crowd!

Marchers will gather around noon on Richmond St. in Lower Mills to decorate our truck/”float” -- with a projected kick-off after 1pm.  (Look for details in upcoming DPP Updates or by email/telephone if you RSVP.) The final marching order and location for various contingents will be announced by the Parade organizers a week before the event.

MASSPIRG is co-sponsoring an Activist Workshop. 

Run by trainers affiliated with The Public Interest Network, the Activist Workshop will cover the best techniques for organizing your neighbors to take action, and the best ways to persuade your local media to cover an issue you care about.   

Together with other members and activists, both professional and volunteer, from other public interest organizations, you'll have an opportunity to learn, share ideas and make new connections.

Massachusetts has a rich history of self-reliance, community development, alternative economics, a return to the land, local and sustainable agriculture, and many other activities and programs. With so many active organizations who are interested in creating a just, sustainable future, we are in crucial need of the stories, the history, and the experiences of the people who were (and many of you who still are) part of this movement.
