George Capaccio, Arlington resident and member of Arlington/Lexington UJP, began the Iraq Family Relief Fund in 1998 shortly after his fourth trip to Iraq. He had originally gone there to witness the effects of US-enforced economic sanctions on the people of Iraq. In the course of theses visits, George formed close ties with a group of related families in Baghdad. The Iraq Family Relief Fund is a person-to-person effort to help these families afford such basics as food, clothing, and medicines while living under conditions of war and the ongoing U.S. occupation.

George relies entirely on donations.  Arlington/Lexington UJP is sponsoring this community event to assist George with this humanitarian relief effort.

Contributions go directly to the families and are not tax-deductible.

Sponsored by Arlington/Lexington United for Justice with Peace.
