The Brothers of the Society of Saint John the Evangelist invite you to join us for an evening of classical Arabic music, featuring Ali Amr playing the qanun (Arabic zither) and Tareq Rantisi playing percussion instruments.

Ali and Tareq, from Ramallah, Palestine, are students at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. They are participants in the Society's Monastic Residence program for young adults. Tariq and Ali are offering this evening in gratitude for the Brothers' hospitality.

Ali Amr was born in Morocco and moved to Palestine at the age of 6. Talented  from an early age, Ali attended the Edward Said Conservatory of Music in Ramallah, where he studied the qanun with Ibrahim Al-Atari

Tareq Rantisi was born in Jerusalem in Palestine. He started playing percussion at the age of 12 and has preformed with various groups and ensembles in concerts around the world, with the Edward Said National Conservatory.
