Leveraging Social Media to Create Social Change

When: Thursday, March 25, 2010, 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Where: Simmons College • 300 the Fenway • Boston
2010 Mar 25 - 7:00pm
2010 Mar 25 - 9:00pm

Do you blog, have a website, or Tweet on a regular basis? Want to find out strategic ways to use these skills for social justice work? Join us for a panel discussion on using your own or an organization’s blog, website, or social media sites in order to create social change.

Panelists will include Adaora Asala from Queer Women of Color and Friends (QWOC+ Boston), Amanda Johnston from Gay & Lesbian Advocates & Defenders (GLAD), and Robbie Samuels from Socializing for Justice (So Just).

Co-sponsored by the Simmons Institute for Leadership and Change.   The event is part of Women, Action and the Media's WAM! It Yourself event. WAM! It Yourself is a brand-new, decentralized version of the annual Women, Action & the Media (WAM!) conference. This year, instead of everyone who cares about gender justice in media gathering in one place for WAM!, WAM! is happening exactly where you are.

Interested in attending? Have more questions? E-mail Ashley or check out our WAM!Boston Facebook page.
