This year on Tax Day, UJP member groups will protest the use of tax money for the runaway military budget. We will call to shift at least 25% of the $706 billion FY2011 military budget to fund human needs, and specifically we will call for defeat of the $33 billion FY2010 supplemental appropriation for the war in Afghanistan.
Cambridge UJP will distribute flyers Wednesday from 5:30 to 6:30 in Central Square, Mass. Ave. at Magazine St. On Thursday at the Central Square Post Office, the Boston Coalition for Palestinian Rights will be present from 5-6, as will as group of local Tax Resisters. Arlington/ Lexington UJP will leaflet at the Arlington Center post office Thursday 4-5pm. Milton for Peace will protest military recruitment on Thursday. Somerville/Medford UJP will show the film "Why We Fight" Thursday night.
