UJP is a co-sponsor of the Event which is organized by the May 1st Coalition of Chelsea, East Boston and Everett.

On behalf of the Chelsea, East Boston, and Everett May 1st Coalition.

We are community based organizations with a long history of organizing and providing services for the immigrant populations of our respective cities. Between our communities of East Boston, Chelsea, and Everett, we have been organizing residents for over ten years to celebrate May 1st as International Workers Day annually with marches and rallies through the main streets of our cities.

In 2005, the immigration justice movement reclaimed May 1st as a day to highlight the contribution of immigrant families in the U.S. and to demand just and humane immigration reform. This year we plan on making the May 1st March and rally a success once again. We are mobilizing members of our communities for a march that will start from East Boston, will make a brief stop in Chelsea and will converge at Glendale Park in the City of Everett for a two hour rally and cultural celebration of workers' rights and immigration justice.

We voted for change.  Today we make our demands!  Respect the dignity of Immigrant Workers.
