MassHope! 24-Hour Vigil to Defeat Anti-Immigrant Bill

When: Monday, June 7, 2010, 7:00 pm to Monday, June 14, 2010, 7:00 am
Where: State House • Beacon St & Park St • Boston
2010 Jun 7 - 7:00pm
2010 Jun 14 - 7:00am

The Student Immigrant Movement started June 7 a 24-hr, indefinite vigil against the Anti-Immigrant amendments in the current Senate Budget.

These amendments go against everything SIM, MA, and the US stand for. They reflect an unwelcoming face that MA does not agree with, by punishing immigrants and placing a greater cost to the state. This vigil is constant prayer and show of support that the State legislature will not move on with such oppressive measures that threaten to split communities.

This puts MA in step with AZ. work in solidarity with AZ to stop such measures from happening! stay a while or stay all night! just drop by and show your support!

Check the SIM website for more info soon: www.simforus.com and have opened a twitter account for the vigil as well: http://twitter.com/masshope2010

Ways folks can support:

  • Donations – people can donate through the SIM website and there will be a website for the vigil by the end of the week
  • Food / Drinks / Supplies – you can contact the SIM staff to see what the most current needs are: http://www.simforus.com/contact-us
  • Allies / Solidarity – they'll be on the front steps of the state house if anyone can stop by to provide support and encouragement
