National Counter-Recruitment and Demilitarization Conference

When: Friday, July 17, 2009, 9:00 am
Where: Chicago • Chicago
2009 Jul 17 - 9:00am
The National Counter-Recruitment and Demilitarization Conference is less than a month away! On July 17-19 in Chicago, IL, a broad spectrum of people will come together to share skills and to form the relationships needed to build a permanent resistance to militarism.

Earlier, UFPJ encouraged Member Groups who are doing 'Truth-In-Recruiting' or 'Counter-Recruitment' work to attend this conference -- and we still do! You will be provided with a valuable set of practical tools to use in combating military recruiting in schools, neighborhoods, etc., as well as opportunities to connect with others doing this same work across the country. So don't forget to register for the conference while you still can!

We also want to point out to you to some of the dozens of workshops that will be offered at the conference -- such as 'Race, Class, and Culture in Counter-Recruiting', 'Camouflaged: Combating Military Recruitment in the Classroom', amongst many other exciting workshops. Please click here for more info on the workshops offered the conference.

Be sure to check out the NNOMY (National Network Opposing Militarization of Youth) website and sign-up for the conference now.
