1. FBI Repression: City wide group met on Feb. 8. It was a productive meeting. There will be an educational March 2nd with Maureen Murphy and an ACLU speaker (maybe Susan Akram) or others. This meeting may take place at BU. There is a 6PM meeting Monday of the UJP task force. Jan. 25th hearing did not take place, all 9 people refused to show up, now they are waiting to see what will happen.
2. April 9 Organizing in Boston: Barry Sanders cancelled can’t do talk this Friday. Still having the program with Maggie and or other speaker or film. On Feb. 16 there will be an organizing meeting to start to build for April 9th.
3. Egypt: Agreed to endorse the teach- in program on the 17th. It will take place at the Palestine Cultural Center.
4. Meeting with Chuck Turner: Chuck would like to have a meeting with the peace community to see how economic justice issues are being addressed. Need to set a date. Invite the planning group, Becky Peirce, Sue Gracey, and others.
5. BDS: Hummus campaign will start with the Harvest Co-Op both in Cambridge and JP. The board of directors will be addressed first then possible a referendum to get Sabra and Tribe hummus off of their shelves. March 12 from 10 to 2 was set up as the first time to start an educational campaign by leafleting at the two stores.
6. Secure Communities: We endorsed action at the State House on Sat. also endorse the Centro Presente action. Both are to protest state intention to join the anti-immigrant and racist secure communities program. We should endorse all of the immigrant rights programs.
7. Fall program: Begin to think about a 10th anniversary all day conference with well known speakers and workshops. Should have a fund raising component. Will have proposal sent to the planning group.
