1. Program on Libya/Mideast:

Speakers: Phyllis Bennis can do it on 5/15 or 5/16.   Other suggested speakers are Elaine Hagopian and Ashraf Elkerm (the Egyptian doctor who spoke at the Palestine Center).    Should we have a reception?     The committee apopinted last time did not meet.   A modified committee is appointed to take care of the event:   Shelagh, Ann and Paul.

2. Report on April 9 demonstration.

Marilyn: It was very spirited with youth, multiple speakers who each took 90 seconds, and a march from Union Sq to Foley Sq.

Duncan: Need to balance rhetoric critical of Obama with criticism of Tea Party / Ryan/ Boehner / Republican Midwest governors.

There was a concurrent labor demo which may have hurt attendance.

3. Festival for a Nuclear Free Future.

We decided to endorse it, but our financial contribution will be determined later.

Suggestion to include a speaker from Japan, and contact Hattie Nessel.
