Topic

Oct 17 Rally/March

Discussion

Some issues: should a conservative antiwar speaker be included such as from the Libertarian Party?  Shall UJP loan the action $500 to be repaid?  What is the march route?  Call to be decided Saturday; starting to consider slogans and program.  Who can work on media?

Notes: changing next UJP Strategy Meeting to October 03 -- as Sept. 26 conflicts with Arlington town day.  Need to determine if space is available.

UJP endorsed the Grassroots Technology Conference at Northeastern on Oct. 17-18 and will consider a financial contribution.

UJP will make a tentative proposal for a workshop as part of the Jobs with Justice initiated week of local actions late in Sept. in support of the G20 protests in Pittsburgh.

UJP expresses its opposition to the coup in Honduras and demands the US government take actions to support the legitimate Zelaya government.  A more detailed position will be worked out for the next meeting.

Finances & office: a financial report and fundraising discussion will be scheduled soon, hopefully September 09.  As we recover from the flood and move, the computers have now been hooked up in the new office space but no internet connection.  We need to complete the move soon.
