Discussion

Meeting to take place Oct. 3 from 1-5.  Paul is to check and see if Friends Meeting House is available.  Information will be sent out as soon as place is confirmed.  Meeting to start with the film "Rethink Afghanistan" and discussion.  Followed by Oct. 17 report and discussion.  Reports from task force groups and structure document presented for discussion and approval.

G-20 committee started by Jobs with Justice.

Discussion

On Sept. 24 housing activist and foreclosure crisis groups will target Bank of America.  Sept. 25 teach in at a college which will include speakers on different movements including peace movement.

Oct. 7 vigil

Discussion

Similar to vigil last March 19 -- marks 8 years since bombing of Afghanistan.

Oct. 17 Rally and March -- Committees have been formed and the event is starting to take shape.  It will be at Copley Square and a march and return to Copley.

Decision: UJP to loan $500 seed money.

Af/Pak Report - A RAWA rep will be with us Oct. 15-20.  She'll speak at the rally, there will be a UJP sponsored forum that week along with Marc Herold, and visit campuses, community groups and media.

 

Malalai Joya will be with us Oct. 29-30.  She's an Afghan partliamentarian who is an uncompromising critic of the warloards and the US that enables them.  She'll be on book tour.
