Are you concerned about the impact of war and militarization on women here at home? How about gun violence in our communities…domestic violence…women and economic disparity…environmental justice…elder and immigrant concerns…
Here is your opportunity to have input into the

U.S. National Action Plan (NAP) on Women, Peace and Security.

Women’s voices will be heard. Last year, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton made a historic commitment to advance the status of women by developing a plan to implement UN Resolution 1325 in U.S. policy and practice, a plan scheduled to be completed by November 2011. WILPF has the powerful opportunity to organize five grass-roots meetings in the U.S. for collective input on what “security” really means to women, with a representative of the State Department’s Office of Global Affairs in attendance.

Community Speakout on Jobs and the Economy

When: Wednesday, July 20, 2011, 6:00 pm
Where: Prince Hall • 24 Washington St • Dorchester
2011 Jul 20 - 6:00pm

It’s no secret that our community is facing many challenges these days. Many people are out of work and have little hope of finding a job. Hundreds have been forced from their homes due to foreclosure. Tight budgets have closed schools and community centers, leaving our youth with few opportunities.

It’s time for change, and we need to speak out and take action on these and so many other issues that harm our neighborhoods.

Please join MassUniting to share your story. At 7:30 we'll take to the streets in support of neighbors who are facing foreclosure and eviction.

Big businesses and corporate CEOs may want to focus on spending cuts and tax breaks, but we know what the real issues are. Click here to invite your friends and neighbors to our Community Speakout.
