Why June 5

Tell Palin and Tea Partiers: Fund Jobs, Not War!

Woman of Mass Destruction

Join with peace and justice activists this Wednesday as we protest hate-monger Sarah Palin’s appearance in Boston.   Palin is appearing at a rally on the Boston Common sponsored by the Tea Party Express.

On the day before Tax Day, we will call attention to how a large share of the federal budget is spent on the military and call for funds to be used for jobs, healthcare, housing, public services and the environment.   We will be distributing the flyers attached to this message.

Peace Movement: Rally for Jobs and Education Wednesday!

Starve the War, Feed the Nation!

As the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq grind on, tens of millions in the U.S. lack jobs and education faces huge cuts. The peace movement is reaching out to connect the struggles for peace with fights for jobs and education.

This Wednesday, March 24, UJP will support the labor movement's noon rally for jobs, and a 5:30 pm rally of Boston teachers and parents protesting school cutbacks. We'll be there with "Healthcare not Warfare" and "Jobs not War" signs. Join us at both rallies in downtown Boston to show that the peace movement supports these important issues and connects them to runaway military spending!

Good Jobs Now

When: Wednesday, March 24, 2010, 12:00 pm
Where: Bank of America • 120 Federal St. • Boston

Big Wall Street banks brought on America's worst financial crisis since the great depression. While their actions destroyed America's jobs, homes, and hope, the big banks got billions in taxpayer bailouts--and went back to business as usual. It's time to tell the banks to start paying for America's recovery by investing in GOOD JOBS NOW!
