Tell Nick Kristof: We Oppose War in Iraq & Syria

When: Wednesday, October 1, 2014, 3:00 pm to 4:15 pm
Where: Memorial Church • 1 Harvard Yard • Harvard T • Cambridge

The new US war in Syria is unwise, illegal, and counterproductive. Read why: http://masspeaceaction.org/5787

NYT columnist Nicholas Kristof supports the US war on ISIS though he wishes it were being managed more competently (http://www.nytimes.com/2014/09/18/opinion/nicholas-kristof-from-dc-to-syria-a-mess.html). But coupled with his pro-war sympathies, he's also pushing a deceptively appealing message: "a unique and essential narrative about making a difference in the world — and a roadmap to becoming a conscientious global citizen. The PBS documentary series premiering in January 2015 examines the struggles women face in the United States and abroad, and the inspiring individuals working with them to create effective solutions." (http://apathappears.org/)

Mass. Peace Action and other peace supporters will hold signs and leaflet attendees at Kristof's talk at Harvard on Wednesday. The talk starts at 7pm and doors open at 6:30 (http://apathappears.org/event/harvard-bookstore/). Let us know if you are coming so we will know how many leaflets to print.  Leafleters should arrive by 6:15 at latest and stay until 7:10.

Our flyer expresses an antiwar view on Syria - it's at http://masspeaceaction.org/home/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/Iraq-Syria-Response-2014-09-rev2.pdf. (Feel free to write a better one)

(We'll also pass leaflets at Park Street MBTA, Thursday at 8am to try a different crowd.)
