Cambridge Forum: Rwanda Women Rising

 “​RWANDAN WOMEN RISING​” Tuesday June 13 at 7 PM at Cambridge Forum is honored to present Swanee Hunt​, author, activist, former U.S. ambassador and lecturer at the Kennedy School; in conversation with Willy Foote​, founder and CEO of Root Capital and Chantal Kayitesi, ​Rwandan genocide survivor.

Hunt will be discussing her book, “Rwandan Women Rising” which explains how women rebuilt their country after the 1994 genocide. Today, the Rwandan Parliament is comprised of 64% women, the highest percentage of any nation state in the world. According to Hunt, the story of Rwanda’s political transformation provides a role model for the rest of the world.

Swanee Hunt is a pioneer in ensuring women are included in the decision-making process in order to achieve lasting security and to prevent further wars. She will be joined in conversation with Willy Foote​, a dynamic activist in Third World social capital entrepreneurship, who has worked extensively in Africa and Central America and Chantal Kayitesi​, a nurse and genocide survivor.
