Walk for Water in Support of Palestinian Refugees

When: Saturday, May 2, 2020, 11:00 am to 2:00 pm
Where: South Plaza at Kendall Square • 300 Athenaeum Street • Cambridge

Welcome to the start of the Walk for Water 5K campaign! Thank you for being a part of it and for supporting access to water and other human rights for Palestinian refugees.  At 1for3, our mission is to alleviate suffering among Palestinian refugees. Despite global challenges and recent funding cuts to UNRWA and the Palestinian Authority, our work continues to be a beacon of hope to needy people in UN refugee camps. Your contributions of advocacy on the issues that impact the people we serve and funds make our work possible.

The money that will be raised through the Walk for Water 5K on Saturday, May 2, 2020 will support 1for3 and our core programs. The walk is the largest source of funding for them. Last year, you raised $109K after fees from 1120 donors. Our goal this year is to have over 1400 walkers and to raise $150K.

Palestinian refugees are facing a very difficult time. Politically, economically, and environmentally, they are stressed as never before. Your efforts in organizing walkers, talking about the programs of 1for3, and advocating for human rights and dignity for Palestinian refugees are inspiring to me as both a Palestinian and as a refugee.
