All troops home now from Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iraq!

End the siege of Gaza and all US support for the occupation of Palestine!

Saturday, October 17 will be the date for a march and rally to protest the Afghanistan/Pakistan war, the continued occupation of Iraq, the militarist U.S. policies with respect to Palestine, Iran, and nuclear weapons, and the impact of the military budget on human needs at home.

As the Obama administration weighs whether to further escalate troop levels in Afghanistan, the moment could not be more timely to raise our voices in protest!

Music starts at noon featuring hip-hop/jazz ensemble Mista Mayday with Above/Below, soul/funk/rockers Bojah and the Insurrection, and the Constitution Brass Band.

A rally at 1:00 will be addressed by a variety of informative speakers including Afghan women's rights activist Zoya, military resister Matthis Cheroux, veterans, military family members, and organizers for immigrants' rights, housing rights, climate change, redirecting the military budget, ending the Gaza blockade, and opposing the Honduras coup.   The rally will be MC'd by satirical singer-songwriter Roy Zimmerman and Gold Star parent Melida Arredondo.

At 3:00 the group will march from Copley Square to the Common and return to Copley.

The mobilization has eight demands:

  • All troops home now from Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iraq!
  • End the siege of Gaza and all US support for the occupation of Palestine!
  • Fund Jobs, Health Care and Environmental Protection, not War & Nuclear Weapons!
  • Ground the Drones!

  • No Threats against Iran or North Korea!
